Morning Star Daycare and Preschool opened in 1994 as a ministry of Nixa Assembly of God now known as Thrive Church.  In January of 2021, plans were put in place to explore moving to more of an Academy approach to learning and Pre-Kindergarten preparation.  

Morning Star Academy is a Daycare and Preschool program serving Nixa and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to partner with families to provide care for children ages 6 weeks-23 months and intentional education for children ages 2 years to Pre-K.   We enroll for year round care, but in addition to the Academy programming, our summer program is more activity driven.  

Our VISION is to provide a safe environment for children to creatively explore the unique gifts that are developing inside of them through the lens of God’s love and purpose for their life.  

Our MISSION is to teach children about the love of God through spiritual, physical, social and educational encouragement.

Our Vision and Mission will be realized through the following principles:

• Spiritual guidance will start each day and be at the heart of everything we do 
• Physical fitness and health will be lived out daily
• Social skills development will be realized through embracing our uniqueness 
• Educational encouragement will be facilitated in the following areas:  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
• Creative Arts will be embraced, explored and allowed to bloom in each child
